Our female ancestors knew real suffering. They didn’t get to live their life in front of a perpetual audience.
I think they deserved at least 50 “likes” for the socks they darned, and probably 1000 for raising, killing and feeding that chicken to their family. They should have at least been able to Pinterest the butter they churned, and the quilt they made.
Thank goodness we put an end to all that suffering. Now when we trim our split ends, struggle to open the junk drawer, unclog the toilet, we can post pictures and commiserate with friends and strangers about it. Sure, we’re becoming affirmation junkies, but doesn’t it make life more fun?
Well, I have always loved to commiserate. I like to laugh. I like to write. So, I started a blog. I will stick to topics I know: my family, my faith, and caring for a child with a chronic illness. I really am grateful for any moments you decide to share with me.
